Algeria’s Prime Minister oversees launch of Kafra Sud-Est 1 drilling project in Niger

The Prime Minister of Algeria, Sifi Ghrieb, arrived in Niamey today on a special mission from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to participate in the official kickoff of the Kafra Sud-Est 1 exploratory drilling project.

The landmark ceremony was held in the presence of Niger’s Prime Minister, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Niger in the energy sector.

The Kafra Sud-Est 1 well, located in the Agadez region, represents a strategic investment in Niger’s natural resource development. The project is expected to enhance the country’s energy independence while strengthening economic ties with neighboring Algeria.

During his visit, the Algerian Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with key officials to discuss further collaboration opportunities between the two nations.
