This year, Chad takes center stage as the guest of honor at Cameroon’s 54th National Day parade on May 20, 2026, both in Yaoundé and across all regions of the country.

The event, widely recognized as the Festival of Unity, honors Cameroon’s national cohesion and remains a cornerstone of the nation’s institutional and patriotic calendar. For 2026, the official theme is: “National unity: the foundation of our defense and catalyst for Cameroon’s growth.”

The capital will host a grand civil-military parade featuring the country’s defense and security forces, schools, youth organizations, and representatives from diverse sectors of Cameroonian society. Similar celebrations will unfold nationwide, reinforcing national pride and solidarity.

The Ministry of Youth has introduced groundbreaking initiatives for this milestone edition. Highlights include a nationwide cultural diversity carnival and an extended weeklong celebration, designed to bring festivities closer to local communities across all 10 regions.
