Tidjane Thiam applauds Ouattara’s appeasement efforts, champions Ivorian unity

The president of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), Tidjane Thiam, conveyed a significant message to the Nation on August 6, 2026. In his address, he lauded the Republic’s President, Alassane Ouattara, for his initiatives aimed at easing the political atmosphere, simultaneously urging all Ivorians to rally around the fundamental principles of unity and hope.


During his national address, the esteemed leader of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire explicitly acknowledged “the gestures made by Alassane Ouattara to foster calm in our nation’s political life.” Thiam underscored his belief that these actions represent encouraging signals crucial for strengthening national cohesion.


Amidst the preparations for the Independence Day festivities held in Yopougon, Tidjane Thiam also confirmed the PDCI-RDA’s participation in this pivotal national celebration. He justified this decision by emphasizing the unifying essence of the commemoration. “We are all Ivorians, and the national holiday belongs to the entire Nation,” Thiam affirmed.
