Ivorian President celebrates unprecedented financial commitments ahead of 2026-2030 plan launch
The President of Côte d’Ivoire, Alassane Ouattara, expressed deep satisfaction following the conclusion of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 financing consultation held in Abidjan.
During the two-day event, which concluded on Friday, July 10, 2026, over 2,000 investors from 49 countries participated, including top representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, and development partners.
A historic mobilization exceeding expectations
The financial commitments announced during the forum reached 80 billion US dollars, equivalent to 47,820 billion F CFA—far surpassing the initial target of 11,138.2 billion F CFA, nearly four times the expected amount.
The PND 2026-2030, with a total investment volume of 114,838.5 billion F CFA (approximately 209 billion US dollars), is designed to span five years, with the private sector expected to contribute 70.2% of the funding, driving economic and social transformation.
Six strategic priorities for national transformation
The plan outlines six key focus areas:
- Peace, security, and stability as the foundation for progress
- Agriculture and agro-industry to boost rural economies
- Private sector growth and industrialization to create jobs and wealth
- Human capital development through education and healthcare
- Strategic infrastructure to connect regions and markets
- Good governance and state modernization to ensure transparency and efficiency
On the macroeconomic front, the plan sets ambitious targets: achieving upper-middle-income status by 2030 with a GDP per capita of 4,500 US dollars and reducing poverty to below 20%.
From commitments to tangible results
President Ouattara emphasized that the State’s role is to translate these financial pledges into real improvements for all Ivorians, including better schools, hospitals, roads, job opportunities, and shared prosperity.
« Together, with confidence, determination, and unity, we will build a Côte d’Ivoire that is more prosperous and more united, » he affirmed.
