The highly anticipated move of Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain is almost finalized. A preliminary agreement has been reached between the French club and Barcelona. The Spanish striker, who scored the decisive goal in the World Cup final, is expected to land in France soon.

Ferran Torres’ absence from Barcelona’s World Cup champions’ training session spoke volumes. The Spanish forward is on the verge of leaving Catalonia for Paris. A preliminary agreement has been struck between FC Barcelona and PSG for the transfer of the Spanish attacker, with the deal potentially valued at around €50 million. The player is set to sign a five-year contract.

As Spanish media reported, Ferran Torres did not participate in Barcelona’s training this week—a clear indication that negotiations between Paris and Barcelona were progressing smoothly.

Breakthrough in negotiations

The versatile winger, signed for over €55 million in 2021, has been deployed as a false striker since Hansi Flick took charge at Barcelona in the summer of 2024, serving as a backup to Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

Ferran Torres’ future remained uncertain after the World Cup, where he became the hero by scoring the only goal in the Spain-Argentina final. Under contract with Barcelona until 2027, the club had initially rejected a PSG offer of €40 million (including bonuses) on Monday. However, the situation has since evolved, making this one of the most closely watched transfers in the current transfer window.
