Gabon: renewed talks between HAC and Meta over social media suspension

The future of social media in Gabon took center stage at a major international conference on digital regulation. From June 1-3, 2026, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Germain Ngoyo Moussavou, President of the High Authority for Communication (HAC), participated in the « Abidjan 2 » event. Organized by the African Regulators in Communication Network (RIARC) and the Francophone Media Regulators Network (REFRAM), the summit gathered regulators, digital experts, and global platform representatives to address AI governance, content moderation, and communication freedoms.
