During the meeting, Mayor Eugène Mba presented a comprehensive progress report on the implementation of his municipal roadmap, introduced a restructured municipal organization, and outlined key priorities for a revitalized urban management plan. The discussion centered on major projects designed to redefine Libreville’s urban landscape for years to come.

The agenda included critical initiatives such as urban space reorganization, construction of modern parking facilities, development and enhancement of green and botanical spaces, combating unauthorized public land occupation, and upgrading neighborhood-level infrastructure to elevate living conditions. Particular emphasis was placed on modernizing municipal administration through digital transformation.

This strategic initiative aims to streamline citizen administrative processes, enhance public service quality, increase transparency in municipal management, secure revenue collection, and significantly boost the city’s own revenue streams. The President underscored the urgency of accelerating sanitation efforts, stressing that urban cleanliness is a non-negotiable benchmark for any forward-thinking capital.

To achieve this, coordinated action is required to improve waste collection, transportation, treatment, and recycling, ensuring a healthy environment for all residents. Reaffirming his commitment to a modern and attractive Gabon, the President highlighted Libreville’s role as the nation’s showcase, urging it to meet international standards in urban planning, local governance, and public service delivery.

He called on the Mayor to uphold rigorous standards, foster innovation, and execute projects with maximum efficiency. This meeting reflects the Head of State’s resolve to position local governments as key drivers of national development and to prioritize the daily concerns of citizens in public policy decisions.
