The youth of Baga-Sola demonstrated solidarity this past Sunday, May 24, 2026, by rallying behind local defense and security forces in their ongoing battle against Boko Haram. Through the Coordination of Youth Associations of the Lac region (CADELAC), they delivered essential food supplies as a token of appreciation for the troops’ unwavering commitment.
Community support for national security efforts
In a powerful display of unity, CADELAC coordinator Mahamat Adam Moustapha extended heartfelt condolences to the families of civilians recently killed in attacks near Barka Tollorom. Addressing local leaders and defense officials, he praised the Forces de défense et de sécurité (FDS) for their relentless efforts in maintaining regional peace and stability.
« The youth of the Lac region stand firmly beside our defenders, » Moustapha declared. « Our vigilance and collective action remain critical in preserving the safety of our communities. » His remarks underscored the deep connection between local resilience and national security, reinforcing the importance of grassroots participation in countering extremist threats.
A gesture of gratitude and solidarity
As part of their initiative, CADELAC presented five 50 kg bags of rice and ten cartons of pasta to the FDS. While modest in scale, the donation symbolized a broader commitment from young people across the province to support those risking their lives daily to protect the region.
The gesture highlights the growing role of community-led initiatives in conflict zones, where local populations play an active part in bolstering security operations. It also reflects the determination of the Lac region’s youth to stand united against terrorism, ensuring no family or soldier fights alone.
