Liverpool sets sights on PSG’s Bradley Barcola for summer recruitment
Bradley Barcola, the dynamic winger from Paris Saint-Germain, is emerging as a prime target for Liverpool as the club seeks to bolster its attack ahead of the upcoming season. With the French squad preparing for their participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the transfer dynamics could shift rapidly in the coming weeks. Barcola, currently under contract with PSG until 2028, has long been on Liverpool’s radar, and recent developments suggest the club remains keen to secure his services.
Can Liverpool outmaneuver PSG’s defensive stance?
The summer transfer window is heating up, and Liverpool is exploring multiple avenues to reinforce its offensive lineup. While key players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Senny Mayulu, and Ousmane Dembélé are not expected to leave, uncertainty looms over Gonçalo Ramos, Ibrahim Mbaye, Kang-in Lee, and Barcola. The latter, in particular, has been a subject of intense interest from the English club, and this interest shows no signs of waning, even with the appointment of Victor Muñoz as a potential new addition to Liverpool’s coaching staff.
Yan Diomande remains a top priority
Liverpool’s recruitment strategy isn’t limited to Barcola. The club has also set its sights on Yan Diomande, a fast and versatile winger who is also being scouted by Paris Saint-Germain. Diomande, currently playing for RB Leipzig, has expressed his focus on the Ivorian national team’s World Cup campaign, stating, « I’m a Leipzig player right now, but who knows? My agents will handle the negotiations. My priority is the World Cup—it only happens every four years. I’m giving it my all, and we’ll see what happens afterward. »
Alternative targets fill Liverpool’s shortlist
Given Leipzig’s steep valuation of €100 million for Diomande and the stiff competition from PSG, Liverpool is not putting all its eggs in one basket. The club is also considering several other players, including Said El Mala (1. FC Köln), Yankuba Minteh (Brighton & Hove Albion), and Matias Fernandez-Pardo (Lille). These alternatives could provide the flexibility Liverpool needs to finalize its summer signings.
