Nantes faces empty stadium penalty after pitch invasion during Ligue 1 finale

The LFP disciplinary board has handed down a harsh penalty to Nantes following pitch invasions during the final Ligue 1 match against Toulouse. The club will face an empty stadium for one match, with the Loire stand closed for two additional games.
FC Nantes has avoided point deductions despite the chaotic conclusion to their Ligue 1 campaign. The LFP disciplinary board imposed a one-match empty stadium penalty at Stade de la Beaujoire, along with a two-match closure for the Loire stand. The score at the time of the definitive interruption against Toulouse (0-0, May 17) has been officially confirmed.
The disciplinary measures come after Nantes supporters stormed the pitch during the final matchday against Toulouse, protesting the club’s relegation to Ligue 2. The referee halted the match following the pitch invasions and subsequent disturbances.
