Nigerian troops rescue 360 captives from Boko Haram stronghold

A major military operation in the southern reaches of Borno State resulted in the liberation of 360 hostages on Sunday.

The Nigerian army conducted this successful mission within the Mandara Mountains, a rugged terrain long utilized as a base by Boko Haram militants. This latest victory is part of an intensified campaign by Abuja to dismantle terrorist networks. It follows a significant joint operation with the United States last month, which led to the elimination of 175 fighters belonging to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
