Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS bolsters Côte d’Ivoire automotive sector with SICTA acquisition
Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS, a diversified investment firm, has finalized its acquisition of SICTA (Société Ivoirienne de Contrôle Technique Automobile), the long-standing automotive inspection leader in Côte d’Ivoire. The strategic move marks a significant milestone in the Group’s expansion across West Africa’s automotive landscape.
Transforming the automotive inspection experience
During a press briefing in Abidjan, David Fofana, CEO of Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS, outlined the vision behind the SICTA integration and highlighted the Group’s progress one year after the acquisition’s official completion. By absorbing SICTA, Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS inherits five decades of expertise while infusing fresh innovation into the sector.
The Group’s primary goal is to enhance user experience in automotive inspections—a target already demonstrated through Mayelia Automotive, which slashed wait times to just 30 minutes upon launch, setting a new benchmark for service efficiency in the industry.
Advancing road safety and government priorities
Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS is aligning its operations with the Ivorian government’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ road safety policy. As a strategic partner to the state, the Group aims to contribute to reducing road fatalities by enforcing stricter compliance and modernizing inspection processes.
A panafrican growth strategy across multiple sectors
The acquisition of SICTA further solidifies Mayelia PARTICIPATIONS as a multisectoral powerhouse with a panafrican vision. Currently operating in two countries, the Group oversees six subsidiaries spanning critical industries:
- Mobility: Mayelia Mobilité
- Technology: CIEIRIA
- Training: Mayelia Academy
- Automotive inspection: Mayelia Automotive Côte d’Ivoire, Mayelia Automotive Guinée, and SICTA
This diversified approach not only strengthens the Group’s market presence but also fosters synergies that drive operational excellence and long-term value creation.
