Ousmane Sonko has bolstered his leadership team with the significant appointment of Maïmouna Dièye as a special technical advisor. The former Minister of Family, Social Action, and Solidarities is set to champion women’s rights and advocate for vulnerable communities, describing her new responsibilities as both a profound honor and a clear call to dedicated public service.

The President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, continues to build his core team. In a new announcement made this Wednesday, he officially named Maïmouna Dièye, who previously held the portfolio for Family, Social Action, and Solidarities, to the crucial position of special technical advisor.

Under the directive issued by the parliamentary institution’s president, Maïmouna Dièye will oversee key areas including social action, family welfare, the promotion of women’s rights, and the protection of children and other vulnerable groups, specifically those living with disabilities. Her integration into the President of the National Assembly’s cabinet signifies a strategic move. Reacting to this pivotal appointment, the former minister conveyed her sincere gratitude while emphasizing the profound importance of her new mandate.

“I perceive this appointment not only as a mark of esteem but, more importantly, as a compelling call to service.
