Ivorian prime minister rallies investors for 2026-2030 development plan

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, focused on investors, was officially opened today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this session, stating, “This marks another critical milestone in our consultative process centered on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation. Our goal is clear: mobilize the private sector to drive the implementation of this ambitious development vision.” He added, “I am pleased to report that over 700 investors from friendly nations have joined us for this pivotal gathering.”

In an address delivered before a packed audience of business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, the Head of Government emphasized the importance of this forum as a platform for fostering dialogue with private stakeholders. He stressed the need to align visions and accelerate collective action toward economic progress.

“Your presence here today reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory,” the Prime Minister remarked. “As key partners, you play an indispensable role in turning our vision into reality—building a more competitive economy that generates meaningful employment opportunities. The success of this mission hinges on your willingness to invest in our future.”

He underscored the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. With the nation’s economy demonstrating remarkable resilience and adaptability—averaging 6.5% growth over recent years—he reassured investors of its place among Africa’s most dynamic markets.

“Today, you are presented with a market brimming with opportunity,” the Prime Minister declared. “The activities of this session will fast-track investments in the PND 2026-2030 priority sectors, particularly industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost added value. We will also focus on strengthening strategic infrastructure in transportation, digital technology, logistics, and human capital development. Innovation and essential services will further enhance productivity and inclusivity in our economy.”

Recalling the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, he noted the participation of over 3,000 delegates from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.

On behalf of the investor community, leaders from key organizations reaffirmed their support for Côte d’Ivoire’s development roadmap. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the African Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), collectively pledged substantial financial commitments to advance the PND 2026-2030.
