Ivory coast prime minister rallies investors at national development forum 2026-2030

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, exclusively focused on investors, was inaugurated in Abidjan at the Sofitel Ivoire Hotel. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé led the opening ceremony, marking a pivotal moment in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation journey.

The Prime Minister emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “Today marks another milestone in our consultative journey centered on investment, enterprise, and value creation. Our collective goal is to mobilize the private sector’s investments to drive this ambitious development vision forward. I am delighted to see over 700 investors from friendly nations gathered here to participate in this vital forum.”

The gathering brought together business leaders, investors, and private-sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan in large numbers. The Prime Minister underscored the forum’s role as a critical platform for dialogue with private-sector actors, fostering a shared vision for the country’s future.

Addressing the audience, he noted, “Dear partners, your commitment alongside us reflects the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory. You are essential allies in realizing our ambition to build a more competitive and job-creating economy. The success of this vision hinges on your ability to invest decisively in our nation’s future.”

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the cornerstone of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. Highlighting the country’s economic resilience and adaptability, he pointed to an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, solidifying Côte d’Ivoire’s reputation as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

Investment opportunities in key sectors

The Prime Minister outlined the vast opportunities awaiting investors, stating, “This is a market brimming with potential. Today’s discussions will accelerate investments in the PND 2026-2030 priority sectors, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, strategic infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—to bolster competitiveness and economic attractiveness, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that will drive a more productive and inclusive economy.”

He also reflected on the first day of the forum, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, which drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

In a show of solidarity, leaders from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in the Ivorian authorities’ vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the implementation of the PND 2026-2030.
